The Impossible Gap – BEHIND THE LENS
In one of Red Bull’s biggest productions of 2025, I joined the team in Sweden to help capture a stunt that pushed the limits of precision and timing. The project was led by a production company from Australia, with a 20 person crew including a local Swedish team. I was hired as one of the main videographers to document the stunt itself, the build-up and the celebration afterwards.
The athlete behind the action was Matt Jones, a world-class freeride mountain biker known for his creativity, technical skill, and massive YouTube following. This time, he took on a near-impossible challenge: jumping his bike between two moving Scania trucks traveling in opposite directions with a gap that existed for less than one second.
The full video, "I Attempted The Impossible Gap", premiered on YouTube and quickly went viral. It’s now one of Red Bull’s most talked-about releases of the year, with short clips from the project generating over 50 million views across platforms.
It was an intense, fast moving shoot with no second chances. Being trusted to help capture it from the ground was an unforgettable experience.
