The road to the Westfjords 🌅
We followed Road 1 north before turning onto Road 60. Hardly another car in sight , just mountains, farm animals, and a sunset that seemed to get better every minute.

Sailing through Jökulfirðir at 66° latitude, chasing steep lines by day, northern lights by night, and warming up in the sauna before cold ocean swims 🌊
One of those trips that will be hard to top!

These are a few of my favourite frames I’ve picked up lately.

Most people see Hveradalir in summer. Right now it’s covered in snow, but underneath lies one of the largest geothermal areas in Iceland.
Step in the wrong place and you’re straight into boiling mud ⛰️

Days out in the snow, snowmobiling and skiing, then back to Highland Base to warm up. The spa, good food, and that quiet you only get this time of year.
It’s not the easiest place to reach, but that’s exactly why I love it 📸

They sit high on the left just before Akureyri when you’re driving up north.
I’ve looked at them through the windshield for years.

Ski touring during the day, straight into the hot tub after.
@svartaborg is just 40 minutes from Akureyri, but it feels far from everything.

Siglufjörður is in full winter mode. Snow covered streets, proper days outside skiing, then straight back to a hotel with room service and a cozy hot tub + sauna.

Hard to leave.

Luckily, more ski trips are coming 🏂

In Iceland, roads turn into rivers, and you just pretend it’s normal.
